CEDAR GROVE: Recreation Department offers volleyball, track, tennis

Cedar Grove Recreation is accepting
registration for Spring Track and Field, open to boys and girls
ages six to 14 years of age. The clinic will be held from 6 to 7
pm on Mondays and Thursdays starting April 2 ending June 7 at the
Cedar Grove High School Athletic Field.

There will be a pre-registration Meeting for
new parents who have questions about the program at 6:30 pm on
Wednesday, March 28 in the high school gym.

The registration fee is $70.? Joel
Pasternack, veteran Track and Field Coach, will return to
coordinate? and instruct the program. Registration
deadline is March 29.

Volleyball Clinic

Cedar Grove Recreation Department will sponsor
a volleyball clinic for girls in grades five through eight this
spring. This five- session course will meet on Mondays starting
March 5 and run through April 2.

Each session will include instructional skills
and drills and scrimmages. The fifth and sixth grade students will
meet from 6:30 to 7:30 pm and the seventh and eighth grade girls
will meet from 7:30 to 8:30 pm at the Memorial Middle School.

The cost of the program is $75.

Suburban Softball Tryouts

The Cedar Grove Recreation Department has
scheduled tryouts for the Cedar Grove Suburban?
Softball Team. Tryouts will be from 7:30 to 9 pm Tuesday, March 6
and Thursday, March 8, in the Cedar Grove High School Gym. Tryouts
are for seventh and eighth grade resident girls only.

Youth Tennis

Cedar Grove Recreation Department will offer
youth tennis clinics for children aged four to 14 this spring in
two separate five-session segments.

Lynne DiGiacomo will coordinate the clinics
which will be offered on Tuesday or Friday afternoons at the two
?Old? Courts on Little Falls Road.

The first session will extend from Tuesday,
April 3? through May 1 , or Friday April 6 through May
4.? Children will have a choice to attend on either
Tuesdays or Fridays. On each day those aged four to six will attend
from 3:45 to 4:30 pm, seven to nine-year-olds from 4:30 to 5:15
pm and 10 to 14-year-olds from 5:15 to 6 pm

The same time brackets will prevail for the
second session, which will go from Tuesday, May 15 through June 12
and from Friday, May 18? to June 15.

The fee for the clinic is $70 per child. Class
size is limited. There will be no refunds given after the program
starts. Youngsters will be able to purchase racquets on the first
day of each session.

Registration forms have been distributed
through the schools and are available at the Recreation Department
office.
