Description:
The Senior Human Resources (HR) Applications Specialist will be responsible for
implementing technology solutions in support of the university's Human Resources and related system needs. The Sr HR Applications Specialist
will interface with a variety of staff and academic groups across the university - including Human Resources, Benefits Administration,
Payroll, Finance, Facilities, Risk Management and related staff and academic unit functions. He/she will be a hands-on technical project
manager, responsible for implementing complex technology projects, and influencing groups outside their direct span of control. The Sr HR
Applications Specialist is a member of the Integrated Technology Solutions team in Enterprise Systems.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent in experience or training is
required.
Minimum Requirements:
Candidate must have at least 7 years experience with increasing responsibility in
the following areas: implementing medium and large scale technology projects, technology product integration, conceptual systems design and
development, or use of system to support business operations. Demonstrated experience with Human Resources, Benefits or Payroll systems is
also required. Must be able to provide solution sets for a broad customer or client base and conduct business needs analysis, technical
requirements gathering, technical approach and feasibility analysis. Demonstrated ability to follow established software development
methodologies and best practices is also necessary. Experience as a technical specialist with Datatel HR and Payroll modules is preferred.
Preferred Requirements:
Must be able to effectively multitask and direct the work of others during time
sensitive, critical projects. Must have excellent communication and analytical skills and be able to work with all levels of management and
customers. Strong customer service skills, ability to gain cooperation and motivation from others, and managing competing priorities are
also necessary. Must be willing and able to learn new skills and technologies quickly and have the flexibility to support multiple business
areas.
Additional Information:
Evening or weekend hours may be required. Position requires the successful
completion of a background check.
